An artist's representation of Wildlife Image's new Small Mammal Facility
The design includes areas conducive to viewing animal behaviors and spaces for educational presentations to groups. Additionally, comfortable interpretive trails are designed for maximum, yet safe, viewing with educational signage and resting areas. This structure will give our resident small mammals a safe, secure, and healthy place to survive and thrive with native foliage, rocks, and logs to look as natural as possible to enhance both the enclosures and surrounding areas. Currently, these animals are in enclosures that are subject to the whims of the weather; exposed to rain and snow, summer’s heat and winter’s cold.

The flowing design features natural materials, a waterfall, and unobstructed viewing of the animals.

The basic structure of the new Small Mammal Facility has been completed - but there's still a long way to go.

The main structure – a log skeleton – has already been completed with a 60’ x 120’ open pole design using dead-fall logs and a metal roof. This will cover most of the walking paths, stream bed, and a portion of each animal enclosure. Solar arrays are planned to generate necessary electrical needs.

The total cost of the project is projected at $220,000. $80,000 has already been raised through grants, donations, and pledges.

You can help!
Join the Small Mammal Guild.

There will be only 400 Guild memberships available. Memberships can be purchased by individuals, families, business, or groups.

In addition to that warm fuzzy feeling of helping these cute little critters, Guild members will receive their name (or their family, business, club, etc) on a bronze plaque at the entrance to the Small Mammal Facility, a special sticker for your car, boat, rv, notebook, bike, or pogo stick, and invitations to two special functions – one to be held once we reach the 400 members as a “guild get-together” and the other as special guests at the grand opening of the facility.

Entrance to the guild is one-time lifetime membership donation of $350.00 in cash or $500 in building materials.

Of course, Guild members will be encouraged to recruit more Guild members because the faster we reach our goal, the faster we can help the animals and educate the public.
