Orphaned as an egg in a brush fire and hatched in his rescuer’s home, Niles was cared for at a local rehab center, but became too imprinted on humans to be released. He can be distinguished from Daphne by his distinct “widow’s peak.” In the summer he can be seen doing his courting dance where he flaps his wings and jumps up and down, then picks up sticks and leaves to offer either Daphne or animal care staff and volunteers.

We Need Your Help

With over 80 animal ambassadors, and over 1,000 sick injured and orphaned animals brought to our center each year - every dollar counts. We rely solely on people like yourself to support the work we do.

We receive no State or Federal funding and depend entirely on private funds to carry out our Mission.
