Yogi Bear

Learn About Yogi Bear

  • Species: American Black Bear (Ursus americanus)

  • Length: 4-7 ft
  • Weight: 150-300 lbs
  • Height: 3 ft (at shoulder)
  • Range in the Wild: Throughout North America, in at least 40 US states, Mexico and Canada
  • Habitat in the Wild: Forested, mountainous areas
  • Diet: Omnivore
    • Diet in the Wild: Opportunists - mammals, vegetation, nuts, honey, berries
    • Diet at Wildlife Images: kibble, donated meats, vegetables and fruit
    • Gender: Male

Yogi was chained in a junk yard and was used as a guard bear. He was confiscated by officials and transferred to Wildlife Images for a permanent home. When Yogi was confiscated his diet consisted of old candy bars and sweet rolls.

We Need Your Help

With over 80 animal ambassadors, and over 1,000 sick injured and orphaned animals brought to our center each year - every dollar counts. We rely solely on people like yourself to support the work we do.

We receive no State or Federal funding and depend entirely on private funds to carry out our Mission.
