Giving Tuesday is a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.
This year, for Giving Tuesday, Wildlife Images is highlighting our Wishes for Wildlife wishlist. The term “wishlist” might be a little misleading because these are things we need. Each year we go through tens of thousands of pounds of kibble, thousands of pairs of exam gloves, hundreds of bottles of cleaning supplies, and dozens of different kinds of specialized food, supplements and medical tools.
We use golf carts to haul food during meal times; rakes, shovels and lumber are used to create new habitats; and incubators, animal intensive care units and heating devices are all used to care for our most injured patients.
All of these things, and so many more, have to come from somewhere. We are hoping YOU can can help us by donating an item from our wishlist. This can be done in several ways…
If you are a Cyber Monday shopper you could send us a pallet of bleach or maybe you’ll see a great deal on an outdoor shed!
We have set up an Amazon wishlist to make things even easier on you! Perhaps you’re looking for the perfect opportunity to give a gift in honor of someone else? If that’s the case we’ll send you a special certificate of gratitude that you can provide to your loved one during the holiday season.
Many of the items on our wishlist can be second hand donations too! Old blankets, towels, pet carriers, yard/lawn care tools, arts and crafts supplies could be cluttering up your home and garage but would make a great donation to our Animal Care & Education teams.
We have two days for getting deals – Black Friday and Cyber Monday. On Giving Tuesday, we have a day for giving back. Together, people are creating a new ritual for our annual calendar. Giving Tuesday, on November 28, is the opening day of the giving season: a reminder of the “reason for the season.” Giving Tuesday is a celebration of America’s greatest traditions: generosity, entrepreneurialism, and community. Everyone has something to give. You can give time or expertise volunteering, fulfill a need on our Wishes for Wildlife wishlist by donating supplies, or support our mission of Saving Wildlife by making a monetary donation of any size.
