Walk On the Wild Side: Patients Survive Window Strikes & Prevention

In this episode of Walk on the Wild Side, Dave Siddon talks about the injuries birds receive from hitting a window. Wildlife Images suggests using a simple yellow highlighter to create a grid pattern on your windows. This will be virtually invisible to the human eye. Birds, however, are able to pick up the color variation and can then avoid the window. Moving bird feeders, nesting boxes, and birdbaths away from the windows can also help. Special stickers in fun patterns can also be purchased from the Wildlife Images’ gift shop.
